Busy Spring Days,

Dublin Lions High School Necklace
Rainbow Flourite and Crystal Necklace with Wire Wrapped Beads
Stephenville Yellow Jackets High School Necklace
The last few days have been busy ones--trimming shrubs, eye doctor appointment, making new jewelry pieces.  Since graduation and graduation celebration parties are coming up, I've been making some school related items--necklaces with school mascots and in school colors, bracelets in school colors, and new to my jewelry line, keychains and bookmarks.  My husband even asked me today if I could make him a keychain.  I think he wants one with the Dallas Cowboys logo on it with blue and silver beads, so I'll see what I can do.  Maybe that would be a seller!  Anyway, be sure to take a look at my Facebook fan page and my Etsy shop for updated items that I'm posting almost daily. Also have a new rainbow flourite necklace that is gorgeous! I think that is becoming one of my favorite stones. I'll post some pictures here of a few items.

Happy Easter

He is risen!  Thank God for that event that happened so long ago that brings us salvation and everlasting life.  "The joyful news that He is risen does not change the contemporary world.  Still before us lie work, discipline, sacrifice.  But the fact of Easter gives us the spiritual power to do the work, accept the discipline, and make the sacrifice."  ~Henry Knox Sherrill

Have a blessed and glorious Easter.

Latest Projects

I just got some software to keep an inventory of all my jewelry pieces and beads and findings.  Now I've got to get everything entered, which is going to take FOREVER!  Just one day at a time and a few entries at a time.  That's the way to do it.  In the meantime, I've got some new projects coming up to work on.  One will be a bracelet for the FBC women's ministry luncheon on May 7.  I'm going to do another Plan of Salvation bracelet, this time with Swarovski crystals, sterling silver beads, and maybe pearls.  It will be one of the door prizes.  Then I am getting ready to make some necklaces in school colors for Dublin, Stephenville, and Tarleton.  The ones for Dublin and Stephenville will have a pendant with the school mascot on it.  Maybe the same for Tarleton.  I haven't decided on that for sure.  These would make great gifts for graduation.  Plus I might make one for each high school to donate for Graduation Celebration, if they are interested.  I will post pictures here and on Facebook when they are completed.

West Texas Wildfires

Until April 18 all proceeds from my jewelry sales will be donated to a fund to aid the victims of the wildfires that have been raging in the beautiful Big Bend area of west Texas.

Having lived in Pecos, about 90 miles from the area affected by the fires, for thirty years and having attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine for my graduate degree, I have a special place in my heart for this area.  I have many good memories of driving through the historic, tourist town of Fort Davis and stopping to have a vanilla soda at the Fort Davis Drugstore or shopping in the many artsy shops there, and then stopping at Wild Rose Pass to admire the view that God created.  You can read a good description of the devastation that has already occurred in this article from the Austin American Statesman:

Treasuries on Etsy

I spent three glorious days babysitting my grandson Noah from Lubbock.  He is 10 months old and trying to walk, so we had lots of fun walking around the house with Noah holding on to grandmommie's fingers.  Lots of things to explore and see.  So much fun!  I am blessed to have such a sweet and loving family.

I  have created two treasuries on Etsy.  The first was in celebration of one of my hobbies, gardening, with the weather finally warm enough to plant flowers.  The title of it is Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow? and it can be seen at http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4d8453434e328eefb995c614/mary-mary-quite-contrary-how-does-your?ref=pr_treasury.  The second one features Texas artisans celebrating the explosion of bluebonnets that are finally popping up all over the state.  Titled The Bluebonnet Comes to Texas, you can view their items at http://www.etsy.com/treasury/4d962bb7710b8eef275a7a22/the-bluebonnet-comes-to-texas?ref=pr_treasury.
